Fred Stanly Hamm

 

Fred Stanly Hamm, 81, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his residence.

Fred was born August 4, 1935, in Iredell County, son of the late Rome Lee Hamm and Etta Mae Head Hamm.

Fred was employed at the Troutman Foundry for most of his working career and had also worked in the furniture industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cooper Hamm; an infant son, Freddie Lee Hamm; and five brothers and sisters.

Fred is survived by two sons, Chuck S. Hamm (Susan) of Granite Falls, and Fred Emery Hamm (Tammie) of Statesville; a daughter, Flossie Hamm; two brothers, Bill Hamm of Hiddenite, and Ronnie Hamm of Statesville; three sisters, Gail H. Lackey of Taylorsville, Ruby H. Leonard of Hiddenite, and Margie H. Childers of Patterson; and four grandchildren, Brian Hamm of Cleveland, Steven Hamm and Joshua Hamm of Statesville, and Savannah Hamm of Granite Falls.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel, 158 Stony Point School Road, Stony Point. Rev. Scott Greene will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 noon at Chapman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
