Dula, Parsons lead Cougars to NPC Crown

 

The ACHS Varsity Men’s Team celebrates Friday’s title win.

Seniors Justin Dula and Kaleb Parsons combined for 45 points to lead the Alexander Central Varsity Men’s Basketball Team past Mooresville 75-62 in the championship game of the North Piedmont Conference Tournament on Friday night, February 17, in Olin.

       Playing in front of a packed house at North Iredell High School, the Cougars completed a 3-0 run through the men’s bracket with the 13-point win over the Blue Devils. The team also avenged a four-point loss to Mooresville two weeks earlier.

       With the win, ACHS improved to 19-8 on the season and will now wait to see when and where

Kaleb Parsons is fouled on a drive to the basket vs. Mooresville.

it will open the NCHSAA 4A playoffs next week.

       Justin Dula and Kaleb Parsons continued their recent hot streak offensive in the title game. Dula scored a game-high 25 points and yanked down 10 rebounds, while Parsons added 20 points and eight boards.

       Noah Presnell also finished in double figures with a dozen points.
