Harbinson & Brzycky team wins go-kart race

TROPHY WINNERS AT AUGUST 23 RACE — The Harbinson & Brzykcy Race Team won the “Race Against Hunger” on August 23, 2016, at Pollard Raceway, outrunning the East Taylorsville Baptist Church Race Team. The winning team included, Larry Pollard (Track Owner), Robin Harris, Daniel Odom, Joel Harbinson, Payton Seitz (Harris’ grandaughter), Mark Odom, Anna Harris, Justin Harbinson, and David Odom (not pictured). Three more events in the “Race Against Hunger” series are scheduled for upcoming Tuesday nights featuring various race teams to benefit different local food ministries.

Attorney team sweeps close race at Pollard’s

The third Race Against Hunger at Pollard Raceway Park on Tuesday evening, August 23, 2016  featured a final heat points battle between East Taylorsville Baptist Church and Harbinson and Brzykcy Law Office.

Harbinson’s team  team took control of the final 20-lap segment to win the event by two points, which benefited the Hiddenite Helpers Food Pantry in Hiddenite. The benefit race provided $802 to the Hiddenite Food Pantry plus a collection of non-perishable food.

Drivers for East Taylorsville Baptist Church team included Jamie Steele, Renee Steele, Kevin Powell, Matt Johnson, Davie Little, Duane Barnes, and Vernon Charles.

The next race is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30 at 6 p.m. at Pollard Raceway Park, which is located on NC 90 East behind the former Harry Gant Steakhouse (Cheffey’s restaurant).

The August 30 race will feature Scotty’s Hometown Grill vs. Sig’s Tire Service. Monetary donations to benefit The Mobile Cafe may be brought to Pollard’s Raceway Park at the racing event.
