Taylorsville Savings Bank wins at 5th Race Against Hunger

FUNDS FOR FOOD MINISTRY — The September 6, 2016, Race Against Hunger at Pollard Raceway Park, between First Community Bank and Taylorsville Savings Bank, assisted the Stony Point Christian Ministries. Mitzi Bumgarner, left, and Tim Keever, right, presented Tina Bombria (center), Director of the outreach in Stony Point, with a symbolic check representing the funds raised for the benefit race. A monetary total of about $400 was received along with some 320 pounds of non-perishable food.

RUMBLE AT THE RACEWAY WINNERS — The Taylorsville Savings Bank team won the Race Against Hunger on September 6, 2016, at Pollard’s Racway, out running the First Community Bank drivers. The winning team included from the left, Keith Warren, Rick Grogan Ashley Mull, Travis Morgan, Kim Wilcox, Roger Bumgarner, Sherri Russell, Tim Keever, Caleb Russell, Chase Pollard (race director), Josh Lafone, and Matt Keever. The next Race Against Hunger event is scheduled September 13, at 6 p.m., and will benefit the Taylorsville Rotary Club Backpack Food Program.
Taylorsville Savings Bank scores victory
in Fight Against Hunger
The fifth Race Against Hunger Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Pollard Raceway Park provided some $400 for Stony Point Christian Ministries along with 320 pounds of non-perishable food.
Kim Wilcox of Taylorsville Savings Bank won the first 15-lap segment and her team expanded their points totals in the second and third segments to claim the benefit race victory.
The First Community Bank team of drivers included Milton Campbell, Mitzi Bumgarner, Dana Benfield, Susan McManamam, Andrew Jackson, Sallie Hughes, Taylor Gilbert, Joey Gilbert, John Hughes, Kasey Gilbert, and Danny Dyson.
The next race is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. at Pollard Raceway Park, which is located on NC 90 East behind the former Harry Gant Steakhouse (Cheffey’s restaurant).
The September 13 race will feature Thomas Insurance Services vs. Garry Goble Insurance Center. This Race Against Hunger will benefit Taylorsville Rotary Club’s Backpack Food Program which serves local youth. Monetary contributions and donations of non-perishable food may be brought to Pollard’s Raceway Park at the racing event.
