Jearl Dwight Icenhour

Jearl Dwight Icenhour, 81, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

He was born October 19, 1934, in Alexander County, son of Willis Dwight and Minnie Lee Warren Icenhour. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from AT&T after 30 years of service.

He was a member of North Point Baptist Church, as well as the Odd Fellows, and was a Mason. Jearl battled Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years. Dr. Frank Moyer said he was always gracious and kind during this time.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Sharpe Icenhour; a daughter, Ginger Icenhour; a son, David Icenhour; three grandsons, Jason (Shara) Icenhour, Justin (Emily) Icenhour, and Aaron (Prosperity) Icenhour; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Margie Spry, Belinda Icenhour, and Patsy (Belva) Bentley, all of Taylorsville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Chapel. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
