Essie Mae Hall

Essie Mae Hall, 80, of Taylorsville, went home to be with her Lord on October 23, 2016.

Born on June 15, 1936, in Alexander County, she was the daughter of Elbert and Rose Mitchell Pierce. Essie was a member of Concord Baptist Church, in Stony Point. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hall; brothers, J. R. Pierce, Graydon Pierce, and J. C. Pierce; and a sister, Marie Mecimore.

Survivors include her children, Sherry Shook and boyfriend Brian Keith Redmond of Taylorsville; Danny Hall and girlfriend Jolee Klimarchuk of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Eric Shook of Taylorsville, Kelly Watson of Taylorsville, Wesley Shook and wife Vanessa of Taylorsville, and Ashley Hall of Bolton; great-grandchildren, Alexis Fox, Samuel Watson, Xander Fox, and Colbie Freeman; a brother, James Pierce and wife Gail of Stony Point; sisters, Phyllis Pierce of Taylorsville, Linda Pardue and husband Paul of Taylorsville, and Arlene Keever and husband Kenny of Taylorsville; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Lee and husband Jerry of Paris, Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 2 p.m., at Catawba Funerals & Cremations, with Dr. Michael Pardue officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
