Jack “Oran” Morrison

Jack “Oran” Morrison, 91, of York Institute Road, Hiddenite, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Morrison was born June 1, 1925, in Alexander County, son of the late Renn Carl Morrison and Mamie Ethel Adams Morrison.

He was a cattle farmer and of the Methodist faith.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Morrison, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Dale Oran Morrison and wife Sheila of Hiddenite; a granddaughter, Lorri Workman and husband James of Taylorsville; a grandson, Michael Morrison and wife Natika of Taylorsville; great-grandchildren, Brandon Workman and wife Emily, Chase Workman, Justice Morrison, and Madison Morrison; a great-great-grandchild, Braelyn Workman; two sisters, Marguerite Echerd of Taylorsville, and Claudia Williams of St. Louis, Missouri; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private graveside service. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Dale Morrison’s home, 86 York Institute Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636.
