Lucille Irene Hafer Icenhour
Lucille Irene Hafer Icenhour, 94, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Taylorsville House.
Born on November 20, 1921, in Alexander County, to the late Homer and Carrie Stafford Hafer, she was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, LC Icenhour; daughters, Linda Reitzel and Betty Rector; a brother, Johnny Hafer; a sister, Gertrude Fox; and half-sisters, Cecil Hafer, Suma Hines, and Arveta Beaver.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay Smith and husband Johnny, and Marcella Icenhour and friend Dallard Lail, all of Taylorsville; a son-in-law, Allen Reitzel; grandchildren, Lisa James, Todd Smith, Sharrie Summerlin, Tina Armstrong, Tonya Wagoner, and Sonya Martin, all of Taylorsville, and Ricky and Eric Rector, both of Hickory; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mable Lafone and husband Melvin of Hickory, and Glenda Kanupp and husband Gene of Conover.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 14, 2016, from 6-8:00 p.m., at Friendship Lutheran Church Family Life Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., at Friendship Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Pastors Carol and Greg Yeager will officiate.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
