Johnsie Deal Little Adams Lackey

Johnsie Deal Little Adams Lackey, 82, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion, in Durham.

She was born on July 24, 1934, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Dexter Davidson and Lucy Bowman Deal. Johnsie was a homemaker. She loved to make people laugh and to provide comfort to those in need. She was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Calvin Little, William Adams, and Harry Lackey; a son, Michael Little; a brother, George Deal; and a sister, Sibil Mull.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jennifer Little and husband Phil Whitaker, and Mitzi Poovey; a step-son, Harry “Scott” Lackey and wife Kim; a sister, Ruth Deal-Lackey and husband Phil; grandchildren, Susan Caudle, Michael Little, Jordan Poovey and wife Ly, and Madison Poovey; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jonathan Caudle; six step-grandchildren; and a special friend, Chase Little.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at Friendship Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., at Friendship Lutheran Church, with Pastor Carol and Gregory Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jonathan and Brandon Caudle, Jordan Poovey, Michael Little, Anthony Robinson, and Randy Barnes.

Memorials may be sent to: Friendship Family Life Center @ 5300 Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.

    Praying for the family. Johnsie was a very special lady, always had a beautiful smile and never met a stranger. She will be missed.

    Johnsie had a special way of making all around her smile and have a good time. She made you forget your problems and just laugh a little.
