Betty Jane Fox Hefner

Betty Jane Fox Hefner, 84, of Taylorsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Gordon Hospice House, in Statesville.

She was born on February 11, 1932, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Charlie and Margie Carrigan Fox. She had worked for Carolina Glove for 53 years and enjoyed baking, canning, and working in her flowers. Betty was a member at Millersville Baptist Church and loved to spend time reading her Bible.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Levon Hefner; brothers, JD Fox and wife Arlene Bare, and Conrad Fox; sisters, Lois Fox Icenhour and husband Coie, and Nancy Fox Hefner; and son-in-law, Wayne Price.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Debbie Hefner Price; a son, Randy L. Hefner and wife Cindy of Taylorsville; a brother, Gary Fox and wife Diane Stafford Fox of Georgia; a sister, Faye Fox Poarch Warlick; a grandson, Michael “Mikie” Miller and wife Amanda Cohen Miller; granddaughters, Alli Price, Heidi Collins, Tabatha Hefner, and Summer Hefner, all of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at Millersville Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Orren and Rev. Dan Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. David Martin officiating at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Millersville Baptist Church Building Fund @ 130 Millersville Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
