Johnny Mac Hagy, 67, of Taylorsville, passed away in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Friday, March 10, 2017.

Born on November 11, 1949, in Washington County Virginia, son of the late Joseph Mac and Ellen Marie Price Hagy, he was of the Baptist faith.

He was retired from LeatherCraft of Hickory as a supervisor. He was an avid fan of his children and grandchildren’s ball games. He loved camping with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Ernest “Ernie” Hagy.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 20 years, Loretta Hodge Hagy of the home; and five children, Joseph Hagy and Scott Isom (Joanna), both of North Wilkesboro, Chris Isom and Nikki Hagy, both of the home, and Angela Isom Donathon (Bryant) of Hickory. There are four grandchildren, Bryson and Kaylin Donathon, and Carson and Mackenzie Isom. He has two brothers, Stevie and Roger Hagy, of Hildebran; along with seven sisters, Linda Shankel and Sharon Preswood, both of Hildebran, Deborah Lowman of Hickory, Norma Lowman of Whitmire, South Carolina, Janie Buchanan of Taylorsville, Nancy Cook of Granite Falls, and Teresa Owens of Mooresville. He has a host of neices and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, from 2-3:30 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Service, with funeral services at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Joey Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Joseph Hagy, Scott and Chris Isom, Bobby, Garrett and Jacob Church, Bryant Donathan, and Carl Price.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
