Rev. Coy Walker, 89 years young, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

He was a pastor for 50 years and witnessed for the Lord everywhere he went. Coy was a graduate from Fruitland Bible Institute and Liberty Home Bible Institute.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Swink Walker of Taylorsville; children, Brenda Poindexter Mosley and husband Tommy of Denton, Lynn Walker Moose and husband Jeff of Statesville, Wayne Brown and wife Michelle of Taylorsville, and Angela Elder Hines and husband Phil of Lyman, South Carolina; grandchildren, Amanda Byrd, Randy Poindexter, Rodney Walker, Justin and Jason Elder, and Stephanie and Anita Brown; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Gary Lovin and wife Linda, Ronnie Lovin, Michael Swink and wife Rachel, and Debbie Taylor; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Jimmy Walker; a granddaughter, Annette, both of Denton; five brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., at Liledoun Baptist Church, and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. James Lockee and Rev. Paul Schronce officiating. Committal service will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, in Moravian Falls, with Rev. Randy Campbell officiating.

The family would like to thank all the employees at Hospice of Alexander County.
