Betty Rhea Sitler

Betty Rhea Sitler, 87, of Statesville, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at The Gardens of Statesville.

Born March 19, 1930, in Alexander County, she was a beloved daughter of the late Howard Jefferson Barnes and Cora Zeola Robinette Barnes. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Roger Dale Rhea; two daughters, Tammy Rhea Gregory and Kelly Rhea Johnson; and her sisters, Evelyn Marie Houston, Mary Caroline Teague, and Janie Seaford Summers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jeff Spry officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
