Vinson “Vinnie” Lamar Icenhour

Vinson “Vinnie” Lamar Icenhour, 64, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 as a result of a farming accident.

He was born in Alexander County, the son of the late Marlow and Lois Icenhour. Vinson spent his life farming and was an avid sportsman. He co-owned Morning Dew Farms.

Vinson was a lifelong member at Friendship Lutheran Church and loved his community and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will truly be missed, but forever in our hearts.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Leon Icenhour.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann Davis Icenhour; sons, Samuel Ray Icenhour (Ava) and Benjamin Munday Icenhour (Crystal); daughter, Amy Icenhour Douglas (Jason); grandchildren, Kiersten Nichols, Anna Beth Harris, Lily Douglas, Levi Icenhour, Max Douglas, Sam Icenhour, Lucy Icenhour, and Addie Icenhour; sister, Marlene Hendren (Clyde); sister-in-law, Sandra Icenhour; along with a number of nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at Friendship Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends during the reception, at their residence, immediately following the service. (2072 Friendship Church Rd). Inurnment will be with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Friendship Lutheran Church’s Building and Improvements Fund at 5300 Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
