Coach Moore taught me in the early 90’s at East Jr High and while P.E. wasn’t my thing he always had a fun and a little passive thing to say to get me going! I’m very sad hearing his passing. I’m praying and thinking of his family! RIP Coach Moore!!

To the Family of Cary Donald Moore,
I have special memories of Donald and his family. He lived in my neighborhood growing up, and went to the same school and Church. I was a year older than him and once we all graduated JMHS I only saw him when he visited his parents. My prayers and thoughts are with each of you during your time of sorrow. Keep those good memories close to your hearts.
    Love,
    Sharon Brookbank

Donald and I were in the same class all through school. Ours was and still is a remarkable class, and Don was a popular and respected member. Don is a huge part of my memories of those formative years. He was a great athlete, student, and friend. It is not surprising to learn through comments of former students of his, that he made a positive impact on many young lives throughout his career as teacher and coach. To his family I offer sincere condolences. I know he will be greatly missed. May God comfort you and give you strength during this difficult time.

Donald was part of a remarkably kind and giving family. I am grateful that I was part of his school family. An excellent student and athlete; but, more importantly, a good human being. From what I have seen posted he remained that way for his life. My thoughts and prayers for his family. May God bring you peace. Rest in Peace Blue Phantom ’66!

I will always have, and treasure many fond memories of Coach Moore. I had him as an elementary school teacher, and later in life as a neighbor, co-worker, and friend. Such, a great teacher! He definitely made a impact on many in our community. When he first began his teaching career in Alexander County School System my Mom worked in Taylorsville Elementary School lunch room. She went back to school in the afternoons to acquire her GED. She also had Coach Moore as a teacher, and as a co-worker. He also taught, and coached my husband, and taught both my sisters. He was admired by many students, co -workers, neighbors, and friends. He will be greatly missed! My prayers will be with each of his family members. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead. RIP Coach Moore!

Praying Gods love & peace to surround all his family. May your special memories help to carry you through the days ahead.

Coach Moore was one of my favorite teachers. He was very kind. Sometimes he would give you an extra point on a test if you answered the right question whch was, “Who is your favorite teacher.” LOL! May he rest in Heaven. And may your pain of loss be eased by wonderful family memories. God bless all of you.

Donald and Ronald Moore were the third and fourth friends I made when my family moved next door to theirs on South Second Avenue in Siler City when I was five and they were six. Donald liked roller skating as much as I did, and sometimes we’d sneak snacks from one of our kitchens and skate all the way to the end of the sidewalk, where we could sit in the shade and make up stories about the woman who lived there. It was a rollicking neighborhood for growing up, filled with kids, games and backyard cookouts in the summertime. Donald and Ronald and other kids, mostly boys, in those days, turned our connecting backyards into a ball field. Donald loved to play and I expect his coaching days started there. Donald was a good friend for those growing up years, and I am sad he is gone.

Coach Moore is a great memory, for he was a teacher I had in the seventh grade, and I have fond memories of him even though he paddled me once.. Seriously he was a great guy.
