Hazel Octavie Byrd Campbell

Hazel Octavie Byrd Campbell, 81, of Stony Point, passed away on December 24, 2017 at Novant Health Center Huntersville.

She was born on February 15, 1936, in Rowan County, daughter of the late Lee Adam and Nancy Cleo Kerley Byrd. She was retired from Bali Corporation as a supervisor in the sewing department, and was a member of Berea Baptist Church, Hiddenite.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert John Campbell; a grandson, Sammy Campbell, Jr.; and a brother, George Byrd.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, David Eugene Campbell (wife Kathy) of Pollocksville, and Sammy Campbell of Stony Point; a daughter, Debra C. Miller (husband Eddie) of Mooresville; two sisters, Emma B. Martin (husband George) and Nancy B. Mash (husband Ralph) of Stony Point; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Berea Baptist Church, 350 Berea Church/Quincy Road, Hiddenite. Rev. Dr. Sheridan E. Stanton will be officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:15-10:50 a.m. Burial will be private at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
