Albert “Cleatus” Kerley

Albert “Cleatus” Kerley, 88, of the Draco Community, passed away January 9, 2018 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

He was born on January 6, 1930, in Alexander County, son of the late William Taylor and Mary Jane Estep Kerley. Cleatus was retired as a heavy equipment operator in the quarry industry.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Larry Joe Kerley of Taylorsville; three daughters, Marlene K. Spencer and Kathy K. Hendrickson, both of Taylorsville, and Nedra K. Church of Hickory; five brothers and sisters, Troy Dean Kerley of Lenoir, Dewey Ray Kerley of Hickory, Denver Nelson Kerley, Linda K. Lyttle of Clayton, and Geneva K. Reves of Millers Creek; and his loving caregiver and longtime companion of 25 years, Grace Ross.

Visitation and gathering to celebrate Mr. Kerley’s life will be held from 5-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel, 158 Stony Point School Road, Stony Point. No formal service is planned.
