It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Kenneth “Ken” Wayne White, who passed suddenly, at his residence, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 68.

Ken is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maricarter “Mimi” White; children, Brent White of Taylorsville, Kendra Williams and husband Jason of Conover, and Susan Bare and husband Michael of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Landon and Cooper Williams, and Dalton and Hudson Bare; his brother, Bobby White and wife Alice of Taylorsville; brotherly cousin, Terry Miller; nephews, Bryan White, Jason White, Grant Miller, and Noah Miller; and numerous other beloved nieces, nephews, and family members.

Ken was born on March 11, 1949 to parents Roland and Ruth White of Stony Point. He graduated from Stony Point High School and Pfeiffer University.

Ken worked for the Alexander County Finance Department and Tax Office for over 25 years. He was known as a patient, caring, and gentle individual who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed beach trips with his family and working on the farm with his brother. He was an active and dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville.

A celebration of Ken’s life is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 12:00 Noon, at First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville, with a reception to follow at the church. Burial will be private at Stony Point Cemetery. Pastor Chris Meade and Reverend Tom Miller will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville or Alexander County Relay for Life.

Pallbearers are: Bryan White, Jason White, Jeff Cockrell, Adam Cockrell, Derek Cockrell, and Guy Kerley.
