Marilyn Faye Greene Pressley, 79, of Conover, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at Catawba Valley Hospice House.

Marilyn was born on June 9, 1938, in Rutherford County, daughter of the late Thomas Wiseman and Lucy Penson Greene. She was reared in the Concord Baptist Church, in Bostic, and a graduate of Cool Springs High School, Class of 1956. Marilyn was a longtime resident of Conover, where she was the owner and operator of Conover Flower Shop, in Conover, and Claremont Florist, in Claremont.

She was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and an associate member of First Baptist Church in Flagler Beach, Florida. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, her interests included her love of travel, shopping with her friends, and her dog, “Teke”.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert Larry Pressley; a daughter, Regina “Gina” Pressley Hubbard and husband Charles R. Hubbard of Conover; a son, Robert Larry “Robbie” Pressley, Jr and wife Kimberly Mecimore Pressley of Taylorsville; a brother, Thomas “Bo” Greene and wife Sheila of Charlotte; a sister, Carol Greene Smart and husband Bob of Inman, South Carolina, and three grandchildren, Johnathon Allen Mills, and Robert Justin Mills and wife Alicia, all of Oregon, and Brandon Lee Pressley and wife Jenny of Taylorsville.

A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at The Padgett and King Mortuary, 227 East Main Street, Forest City. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Catawba Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations in Hickory, from 4 until 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday in the chapel of Catawba Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie Steele, Pastor of East Taylorsville Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
