Barbara “Bobbie Jean” Ellis Guion

Barbara “Bobbie Jean” Ellis Guion, 83, of Leroy Road, Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Guion was born February 1, 1935 in York County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Grover Ellis and Shelly Kendall Ellis.

She had worked as a seamstress for Taylor Togs and Pier Point. She attended Abundant Life Church of God in Hudson, where she was involved with church activities. She loved God and her family. Bobbie Jean was an amazing cook, who made chicken and dumplings, homemade biscuits and banana pudding, all made from scratch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Guion, and three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Martha Greene of Taylorsville; four sons, Donald Guion of Taylorsville, Gilbert Gerald Guion and wife Marion of Dallas, Georgia, Bobby Guion and wife Terri of Taylorsville, and Michael Guion and wife Joy of Lenoir; a sister, Willine Ellis of South Carolina; grandchildren, Micky and wife Regina, Amanda, Jeremy, Jonathan, Lakota Street and husband Cory, Timothy Haskett, Brandon Minton and wife Tiffany, and Chad Minton and wife Rachel; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor James Lopes and Pastor Jerry Varner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home.
