Jo Ann Walker Franklin

Jo Ann Walker Franklin, 57, of Valdese, passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 1, 2018 after a battle with cancer.

She was born January 6, 1961, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Roby Willard Walker and Martha Ann Eagle Walker. She was formerly employed by Kincaid Furniture, and most recently employed by Giovanni’s Pizza in Valdese.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsea Ann Lester.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Wayne Franklin of Connelly Springs; a son, Brian DeWayne Franklin of Valdese; a daughter, Kelly Ann Franklin and husband Sergio of Claremont; a grandson, Alex Betancourt; a granddaughter, Ava Betancourt of Claremont; her sisters, Dana Feimster and husband Gary of Olin, and Kathy Carter and husband Dennis of Drexel; her brother, Jeff Walker of Hiddenite; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A gathering of family and friends by the graveside will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Hiddenite Cemetery.
