Catherine Payne Little Senter

Catherine Payne Little Senter, 85, of Taylorsville Manufacturing Road, Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Catawba Valley Regional Hospice.

Mrs. Senter was born June 27, 1932, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Ransom Vance Payne and Pearlie Mae Warren Payne.

Catherine had worked as an administrative assistant. She was an amazing homemaker, who loved cooking, especially trying new recipes. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, crafting and singing. For many years, she was a member of the Huntersville Women’s Club and North Mecklenburg Community Chorus.

Catherine loved people and loved the churches she served, giving tirelessly of her time and energy. She was a member of Unity Christian Church in Stony Point.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Payne; and two brothers, Roger Payne and Christy Payne.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bobby Ray Senter; daughters, Karen Raper and husband Michael of Lugoff, South Carolina, Lorna Bennett and husband Bruce of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Marla Faulkenberry and husband Mark of Leland, and Tracy McClintock of Huntersville; father of her children, Vance Boyd Little; eight grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jackie Deal and Judy Chapman, both of Taylorsville.

A Celebration of Life and Homecoming service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Scott Hammer and Rev. Phil Chapman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3 p.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers include: Shea Raper, Derek Raper, Bryce Burt, Chase Burt, Hayden Faulkenberry, Gavin Faulkenberry, Dylan McClintock, and Nathan McClintock.
