Nancy Martin Vanstory

Nancy Martin Vanstory, 79, of Hiddenite, passed away April 14, 2018 at her residence.

Nancy was born August 18, 1938, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Rance Martin and Harriet Browning Martin. She was a graduate of Stony Point High School.

Nancy was employed by Walmart, of Taylorsville, for 30 years. She was also a lifelong member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David “Bill” Vanstory.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Allen Vanstory and wife Tracye, and Gene Vanstory and wife Christine Underwood, all of Stony Point; a daughter, Elaine Vanstory of Purlear; three sisters, Dorothy M. Gish of Yadkinville, Wanda Cockrell and husband Charles of Hillsborough, and Diane M. Levan of Stony Point; two brothers, Randy Martin and wife Jill of Statesville, and Dale Martin and wife Vickie of Conover; six grandchildren, Dalton, Taylor and Landon Vanstory, Allison Moore, and Rebekah and Joseph Vanstory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 488 Hill Farm Road, Hiddenite. Rev. Mike Duncan and Rev. Garry Revels will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, in the church.
