Truck driver killed in fiery Alamance crash on I-40/I-85

A Taylorsville man who worked as a truck driver was killed Monday, April 30, 2018, in a crash.

According to several media outlets, N.C. State Highway Patrol troopers believe the tractor trailer had a tire blow out, which caused the crash. Darryl Ryan Cupp, age 34 of Taylorsville, was identified as the driver.

The truck caught fire after it overturned. This incident happened Monday, April 30, about 2:30 p.m. on I-40/I-85 eastbound in Alamance County.

Cupp was driving a Peterbilt truck that was operated by BVR Trucking, of Hiddenite, and was hauling a load of eggs, according to The Times-News of Burlington.
