Linda Canter Fox

Linda Canter Fox, 71, of Taylorsville, peacefully left this world for her heavenly home on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on August 26, 1946, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Jack and Vinna Mae Canter Joines. During her career, she worked as a sewer for Mitchell Gold and Alexvale.

Linda was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church and loved her famiy. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda had such a special love for each one of them and taking care of them when she could.

She was an avid reader and was also a NASCAR and sports fan, especially the San Francisco 49ers.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Canter; sister, Doris Auton; and nephew, Scotty Canter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sherry Crotts and husband Steve, Melissa Matheson, Michelle Laws and husband Canavan, and Greg Fox and wife Teresa; brothers, Dude Canter and wife Estelle, Gene Canter and wife Kay, Gilbert Canter, and Jackie Joines and wife Lisa; brother-in-law, Frankie Auton; grandchildren, Corey Matheson and wife Katie, and Codey Matheson, Ryan and McKenna Crotts, Dylan and Brianna Fox, and Colton and Emma Laws; and great-grandchildren, Varun and Ceciley Matheson, Gracelyn Matheson, and Emily Swantek.

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 3, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Hodges officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Corey Matheson, Ryan Crotts, Dylan Fox, Colton Laws, Andrew Crotts, and Devin Roberts.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.

    Dear Family, we are so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. I remember her from our childhood when all we played together. My how fast the years pass by! Also My late brother Cleatus married her aunt Myrtle. I remember Linda as a very beautiful and kind person. Please accept our condolences.
