Camila Jean “Sissy” Fox

Camila Jean “Sissy” Fox, 81, of Rommie Lane, Stony Point, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born March 19, 1937, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Curlee Combs and Selma Bare Combs.

Sissy was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and adored her Sunday school class that she taught. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and was an avid sports fan, especially of the NC Tar Heels basketball team. She retired from Bassett Furniture after 32 years of service as a Quality Control Supervisor.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Fox Moore, and a brother, J.C. Combs.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Dale Fox; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Fox; a daughter, Regina Shook; two granddaughters, Hannah Fox and Camila Shook; a grandson, Cody Shook and wife Kayla; a great-grandson, Cason Shook; a brother, Bobby Combs and wife Betty; a sister, Jackie Arant; a sister-in-law, Marie Combs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.

The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Rev. Wes Hammer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30-5 p.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers include: Paul Combs, Keith Combs, Jimmy Gregory, Clyde Beach, Robert McClain, and Eugene Conner.
