Christine Frye Hines

Christine Frye Hines, 79, of Church Road, Taylorsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 11, 2018.

Christine was born June 4, 1939, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Ransome Andrew Frye and Minnie Belle Hefner Frye.

She was a 1957 graduate of Taylorsville High School. She retired from the food industry. Christine enjoyed daily devotion, gardening, and most of all family time and being at home. She also loved to cook. She was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy David Hines; two brothers, Harold Frye and Donald Leon Frye; three sisters, Mabel Gantt, Louise Miller, and Marie Buchanan; three brothers-in-law, Euell Gantt, George Miller, and James “Jim” Buchanan; a niece, Sonya Rector; and a great-nephew, Jacob Frye.

Those left to cherish her memory include a loving and devoted son, Dion Hines and wife Jamie of Taylorsville; a sister, Linda Rector and husband Larry of Taylorsville; two sisters-in-law, Lou Ann Frye and Nereida “Rita” Frye, both of Taylorsville; three granddaughters, Sydney Hines, Josie Hines, and Esther Benfield; a grandson, Jamison Benfield; five nephews, Rickie Gantt and wife Sandra, Mark Gantt and wife Sheila, Terry Buchanan, Eric Frye and wife Dana, and Terry Frye; and a niece, Julia Rhyne and husband Dennis.

The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Todd Simerly and Rev. Gary Ledford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Friendship Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers include: Rickie Gantt, Mark Gantt, Terry Buchanan, Terry Frye, Eric Frye, and John Church.
