Cozby Juanita Starnes

Cozby Juanita Starnes, 92, of Hickory, passed away on June 17, 2018.

Born on June 4, 1926, in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Hannah Icenhour Hefner. Cozby was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Cozby worked at Clayton Marcus until she retired in her late seventies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Charles W. Starnes Sr.; two brothers; three sisters; son-in-law, Stephen Little; and a special aunt, Cynthia Bowman.

Survivors include her children, Kay LeBlanc (Sonny) of Florida, Charles W. Starnes Jr. (Tessie) of Hickory, Mary Little (Gary Jenkins) of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Mark LeBlanc (Heidi), Kathy Budreau (Steve), Elizabeth Ireland (JR), Danielle Gnagey (Chris), Michelle Starnes, Richard Starnes (Dede), Brian Starnes, Jill Davis (Alan), Nicole Starnes, Michael Starnes, Michael Stephen Little Jr (Erin), and Charles Essley Little; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Bowman and Jane Sipe of Taylorsville; and numerous other family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 2 p.m., at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Dagenhart officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
