Charles “Leon” Moose

Charles “Leon” Moose, 57, of Johnny Martin Lane, Stony Point, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2018 at his residence.

Leon was born February 16, 1961, in York County, South Carolina, to the late Ray Moose and Elizabeth Hardin Moose.

Leon was an outstanding human being, giving to all, and a great provider for all his children. He was also a protector of all his family and friends. He loved spending time with his family and always put others before himself. He was of the Baptist faith. He will always be cherished and will be truly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Letitia Church Moose of the home; a son, Dustin Moose and wife Flora of Taylorsville; three step-children, Blake Price, Robert Dillard of Taylorsville, and Brandon Dillard of Bakersville; granddaughter, Alexis Moose; five sisters, Sandy Kerley of Hiddenite, Carol McCurdy of Taylorsville, Beverly Sowers of Statesville, Gale Hoover of Taylorsville, and Juel Chapman of Taylorsville; a brother, Bobby Moose of Taylorsville; brothers-in-law, Samuel Church and Andrew Church; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will conduct a Service of Remembrance at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Mountain View Church, on Hwy 16 North, Taylorsville. Pastor Buster Treadaway will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.

    I knew Leon way back in the day in the seventies when we were teens. He was a good guy, friendly, helpful if he could be, and I have fond memories of him. I pray for peace for the family he left behind.
