Catherine “Polly” Crouch Hamrick

Catherine “Polly” Crouch Hamrick, 80, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.

She was born September 10, 1938, in Iredell County, and was a daughter of the late Howard and Eleanor Stevenson Crouch.

Catherine was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and Greensboro Women’s College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in her early life in the Winston-Salem School system.

After the birth of her son, she left teaching to attend the duties of a mother at home. In later years, she opened an interior design service in Winston-Salem and enjoyed a second career as an interior decorator.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Von “Tink” Hamrick, Jr. of the home; and her son, John Knox Hamrick of Clemmons.

A graveside service will be held at two o’clock, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Forest City with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
