Thanksgiving food drive planned at My Safe Haven

New outreach organization My Safe Haven will hold a Thanksgiving Food Drive in Taylorsville for local families in need this season. The deadline to deliver items is Thursday, Nov. 15, at the the My Safe Haven office at 54 East Main Ave. (in the First United Methodist Church Mission Campus).

The items needed are listed below (quantities for one family):
• 2 boxes of stuffing
• 2 jars of gravy
• 2 cans cranberry sauce
• 2 boxes of muffin or cornbread mix
• 2 cans of sweet potatoes or yams
• 2 cans of soup (1 broth & 1 cream)
• 4 cans of vegetables
• 3 cans of fruit
• 1 box dessert mix (cake or cookie mix, etc.)
• 1 dozen eggs
• $20 gift card for a turkey or ham, eggs, butter.

All items should be delivered Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., or Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., to the My Safe Haven office.

Items will be organized and distributed as food boxes on Friday, Nov. 16, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Mobile Cafe.
