Bazzle voted South Fork 2A Conference Coach of the Year

Alexander County resident led North Lincoln to 10 wins this season

By DN PENNELL, Jr.

After leading the North Lincoln Knights to 10 wins and a second place finish in the South Fork 2A Conference, Coach Nick Bazzle has been voted the League’s Coach of the Year.

Bazzle took over the North Lincoln program in June when the long-time coach came out of a brief, three-year retirement to lead the Knights.

The Knights posted a 10-4 overall record in Bazzle’s first season in Pumpkin Center. In addition, Bazzle’s Knights advanced to the third round of the 2AA State Playoffs. North’s playoff run ended with a loss to Shelby on November 30.

Prior to taking the helm at North Lincoln, Bazzle spent four years as Head Coach at Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville. Bazzle, who led Newton-Conover to a State Championship in 2008, still resides in the Ellendale Community of Alexander County.

North Lincoln’s Travali Price was voted the South Fork 2A Defense Player of the Year. A total of eight Knight players earned All-Conference honors in Coach Bazzle’s first season in Pumpkin Center.
