Aaron “Dale” Land

Aaron “Dale” Land, 72, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born to Clara Edith Land on September 21, 1946, in Alexander County.

Aaron was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was an avid fisher and loved to do “fish fry’s” for others to enjoy! NASCAR was one of his favorite pastimes and he was a Penske Race fan!

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Edith Land; his brothers, Jerry Land and wife Carol of Taylorsville, and Rev. Tony Land and wife Susan of Morganton; his nieces and nephews, Cynthia Ferguson and husband David of Stony Point, Sarah Starnes and husband Jeff of Granite Falls, Bryan Land of Taylorsville, Mark Land and wife Stephanie of Taylorsville, Stephenie Lail and husband Jackie of Hickory, and Crystal Thurman and husband Justin of Lincolnton; with nine great-nieces and two great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The body will in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Fox, Rev. Phil Chapman, and Rev. Tony Land officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Dwight Walker, Charles Walker, Jackie Lail, Jeff Starnes, Justin Thurman, and Eli Lail.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Curtis St. Clair, Ronald Hefner, and Kelvin Hubbard.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers of Edith Land, Jane Pennell and JoAnn Walker.

In lieu of flowers, all memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church General Fund.
