On Monday, May 6, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir, Mrs. Annie Mae Patterson, 98, peacefully went home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Annie Mae was the daughter of the late Henrietta and Will Anderson. She was born in Dickenson County, Virginia on July 16, 1920.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Earl Patterson; sons, Bill, Donald Lee, Teddy Gene, Tony, Freddy, and Gregory; grandson, Gregory Allen; and her second husband, Claude Ferguson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Shirley Rouson of Greensboro, Peggy Jones of Greensboro, Evelyn Lipford (Cecil) of Lenoir, and Ellen Carr (David) of Hudson; a son, Monroe Patterson (Robin) of Lenoir; daughters-in-law, Lorraine Patterson of Brooklyn, and Sarah Lott of Buffalo; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Smith of South Carolina; brother, John Fox of Lenoir; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Homegoing service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Patterson Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kings Creek. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Pear Tree Family Cemetery.
