Thelma Nadine Thompson

Thelma Nadine Thompson, 75, of Taylorsville, passed away at her residence on May 22, 2019.

Born to the late James Franklin and Thelma Caroline Broome, Nadine’s career included working in education at Lexington – Richland School District 5, South Carolina, and Southern Westley University in South Carolina. At her pleasure, she was a choir director, enjoyed cooking, working with flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, and tutoring for Alexander County Schools. Nadine also volunteered for the Mobile Café at Reformation Lutheran Church and helped at the Farmers’ Daughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Rev. Dr. Robert Thompson, and brothers, Frank and Keith Broome.

Those left to cherish the memories of Ms. Thompson include her son, Robert Thompson and wife Debbie of Taylorsville; daughter, Stephanie Childs and husband Nathan of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grand-children; sister -in-law, Edna Broome of Bristol, Tennessee; along with many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Reformation Lutheran Church in Taylorsville from 3:00 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. with the funeral service following at 4:30 p.m. Cremains will be endured at Reformation Lutheran Church. Rev. Craig Sigmon and Rev. John Meisenheimer will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Luther Ridge, 2049 Upper Laurel Drive, Arden, NC 28704; Mobile Café, Reformation Lutheran Church, Taylorsville; or Catawba Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
