Ralph Preston Chapman

Ralph “Preston” Chapman, age 44 of Stony Point, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 14, 2019. Preston was born to Ralph Anthony Chapman, of Stony Point and the late Teresa Gail Beaver Roberts in Iredell County on Wednesday, January 8, 1975. Preston worked in construction, specializing in painting. Preston was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his father, Preston is survived by his daughter, Krista Luann Chapman, of Stony Point, a sister, Megan Shaw & husband Bryan, of Claremont, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Stony Point United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and  other times will assemble at their respective homes. Rev. Mitchell Rash and Rev. Bill Taylor will officiate, burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery.

      Preston was my buddy when we worked together years ago at captains galley. He will be missed.

    Preston was a great guy always had a smile on his face no matter what was going on he loved coming up to the store an talking to me on the days I was working. I’ll never forget him he was a true friend. I’ll never forget the first time he come in the store when I first started working there he looked right at me an said dang they got another one. I’ll miss him very much he was such a great person to be around. I’m prayers go out to his family.

    I thought a lot of Prestone. He’s a long friend of mine along with all the Chapman’s. Anthony Chapman has been a dear friend of mine for years. If you read this Antone I’m very sorry for your mornings. Sammy was taken from me so I do know how you feel. Anygain, I’m sorry for the death of Preston. Time will heal. Like to see all but I’ve moved to Asheville and I’m finally clean. Have been absence of all 16 months and doing great. Please pass this on to the Chapman’s in case he doesn’t read this.
