Alvin Clay West Sr.

Alvin Clay West Sr., 65, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at his home.

He was born Sunday, March 1, 1953, in Iredell County, to the late Hazel Wofe Wingler.

In addition to his mother, Alvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel West; two sisters, Patsy Sidden and Linda Green; and a brother, Carson West.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Myers West of the home; two sons, Darrell West, and Alvin West Jr. and wife Annette, both of Wilkesboro; a daughter, Suzanna Chavez and husband Modio of Wilkesboro; a brother, Lester West and wife Susie of Wilkesboro; two sisters, Betsy Walker of Taylorsville, and Lola Pennington and husband Don of Wilkesboro; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Scenic Memorial Gardens. Rev. Alvin West Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the cemetery prior to the service.
