Anne M. Bowles

Anne M. Bowles, 102, of Taylorsville, born August 31, 1917, died Thursday, March 19, 2020. The matriarch of our family and the love of our lives passed into her glorious home with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by parents, Lon and Victoria Meadows, five brothers and three sisters. She was married to Guy Bowles, who preceded her in death, also a son, Billy Bowles, and a granddaughter, Tonya Jarvis.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Horace Meadows (Linda) of Taylorsville; a daughter, Wanda Craver (Jimmy) of Yadkinville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and expecting her third on her birthday, August 31; and two special nieces, Donna Turner and Robin Earp.

She will always be remembered for her open door, her generous hugs, and a full meal for any and all. She listened to our troubles, shared our tribulations, gave words of wisdom and comfort from the Bible, and prayed for us to know Jesus as our personal Savior. She taught us everything we needed to know except how to live without her.

Private family funeral services will be held for the life of Mrs. Bowles. She will have a celebration of her life reception for family and friends on August 30, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Covid19 precautions are recommended. You are invited to attend. We will have a time to share memories of mother and to praise God from whom all blessings flow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gordon Hospice House of Statesville or the charity of your choice.
