Cruise-thru Stony Point to honor McCurdy & McAlpin

In lieu of the Stony Point Fire Department’s traditional Cruise-In, the department will host a “Cruise” through Stony Point on Saturday, July 11, at 5 p.m., to show support for two fire members, Isaac McCurdy and Dianne McAlpin, who are fighting cancer. Due to COVID restrictions, the group will not be able to come together as a whole.

They will begin the cruise at Captain’s Galley in Stony Point, where drivers will take a left on Hwy 90 and head to Ruritan Park Rd. Once on Ruritan Park, they will pass the Fire Department and motorists can stop briefly to wave, smile, and wish McCurdy and McAlpin well. Once past the department, motorists will cross the railroad tracks in front of Shurtape and take a lap back through town.

All are invited to attend and join in.
