Mary Pauline Chapman McGlamery, 89, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Valley Nursing Center.
She was born Thursday, April 30, 1931, in Alexander County, to the late Edd Franklin Chapman and Vera McBride Chapman. Mary retired from Broyhill Furniture. She was an avid fan of the Tar Heels, Washington Redskins, Detroit Tigers, David Pearson, and Kyle Busch.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by twin daughters, Lisa and Teresa McGlamery; six brothers, Don, Ned, Walter “Cobb,” Roland, Claude and Paul Chapman; and four sisters, Jenna C. Barnes, Clara C. Herman, Anna C. Payne, and Margie C. Presnell.
Mary is survived by two sons, Eddy McGlamery and significant other Susie Pardue, and Richard Lee McGlamery, both of Taylrosville; two daughters, Karen Chapman Sigmon of Taylorsville, and Lori McGlamery Deaton and significant other John West of Georgia; five grandchildren, April Robinette, Stevie Sigmon, Tara Wilker, Ryan Barber, and Kisha Boggs; and four great-grandchildren, Trenten Robinette, Bailey Boggs, Madison Grimes, and Kameron Adams.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. James Bumgarner will officiate. The body will lie instate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation.
