Leon R. Bowman

Leon R. Bowman, 66, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2020.

Leon was born May 12, 1954, in Alexander County, the son of the late Jasper Bowman and Juanita Icenhour Bowman.

He was a truck driver and a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. He loved gardening. Leon never met a stranger; he was definitely a family man and had a special love for his grandchildren. He was the fixer of the family.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife of almost 40 years, Carolyn Connolly Bowman of the home; his daughter, Sarah Bowers and husband Josh of Taylorsville; his son, Jason Bowman and wife Shannon of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Susan, Henry, and Aiden; and his sister, Martha Bowman Mecimore and husband Ronald of Taylorsville.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Taylorsville City Cemetery. Pastor Craig Sigmon will officiate.
