Jonathan Gabriel Woods

Jonathan Gabriel Woods, 31, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

Jonathan was born May 13, 1989, in Iredell County, the son of Christopher Woods (Angela) of Oklahoma, and Dianne Durmire Fox (Frank) of Taylorsville.

He was a US Army veteran and was of the Christian faith. He loved his family, the Carolina Panthers, and the Duke Blue Devils. He enjoyed nature, hiking, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Darian Woods; maternal grandmother, Janie Honeycutt Durmire; maternal grandfather, James Garland Durmire; and paternal grandfather, Robert Woods.

Including his parents, those left to cherish and honor his memory include his fiancée and mother of his children, Sierra Huffman; his children, Xander Woods, age 6, and Xayne Woods, age 2, both of the home; sisters, Heather Woods Stanbery (Richard) of Boone, Leah Woods (Derek Phillips) of Mountain View; step-sister, Megan Fox Lively (James) of Taylorsville; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Woods of Stony Point; aunt, Margo Woods Carter (Mike) of Troutman; aunt, Maryanne Sprinkle of Hiddenite; uncle, Robert Woods, Jr. (Rebecca) of Gastonia; and uncle, Sam Durmire of Hudson.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Hiddenite Cemetery. Rev. Chuck Hager will officiate.No public visitation, but the body will lie-in-state from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home to sign the register book.

Pallbearers include: Derrick Byerley, Sam Durmire, Derek Phillips, Richard Stanbery, Kenzie Huffman, and Darin Oxentine.
