She was born May 13, 1949, in Lincoln County, to the late Richard Harvey and Louise Hoppers Stroupe. Jewel enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables. Jewel loved the outdoors, she was an observer of nature and all the wonders of life. Prepared, with her hiking boots laced up, she explored the beauty of this world at her leisure. She shared this joy of observing, seeking, and loving life all around with her family. We will miss her charisma on the trails as she explores the next world.

I worked with Jewel several times at the convenience site. She was a hard person to know but she was kind to me. My heart felt sympathy goes out to her family.
