Gladys Mitchell Icenhour, 79, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home.
Gladys was born May 31, 1941, in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Jim Mitchell and Cecil Fincannon Mitchell.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to go camping and also enjoyed cooking.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Leroy Icenhour; her son, Gary Lynn Harkey; her sisters, Rita Bolick, and Patsy Suddreth and husband Eddie Suddreth; and her brother, Kimmy Mitchell.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her daughters, Diane Barnes (Lynn) of Hiddenite, Gail Keller (Jimmy), Martha Elaine Loftin (Ronnie), and Carolyn Patterson (Barry), all of Taylorsville, and Kimberly Keller (Paula Beaver) of Collettsville; her sisters, Doris Holsclaw (Clarence), Donna Stout, and Rosemary Brown (Ronnie); her brothers, Harold Mitchell (Louise), and Johnny Mitchell (Wanda); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel.
