Iva Lee McClain Jackson, 73, of Charlotte, passed away on December 22, 2020.
She was born on July 16, 1947, in Alexander County, to Elsie Parker McClain and Willard McClain, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Happy Plains School in Taylorsville, and attended Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. Prior to retirement, Iva was a loyal and dedicated employee of J.A. Jones Construction Company in Charlotte for 35 years.
Iva joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Taylorsville at an early age and moved her membership to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church when she relocated to Charlotte. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill and loved serving as an Usher. She also loved helping her family and friends when in need.
Iva is survived by her husband, Robert Jackson, Jr.; and two children, Angela Jackson of Charlotte, and Melissa Jackson of New York City. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children. She is also survived by a sister, Genell Moore (Robert) of Charlotte, and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gwendolyn Jones and Vivian Parker, and a brother, Kenneth McClain.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Charlotte.
