Garrett Lynn Bowman

Garrett Lynn Bowman, 39, passed away January 18, 2021 after a short battle with a mental illness and went home to be with the Lord.

He was born to Gary and Gail Icenhour Bowman on September 3, 1981. Garrett was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He enjoyed anything with work, especially farming and taking care of lawns. He loved time with his nieces and nephews and enjoyed taking care of his mother.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.D. and Thelma Bowman, and his maternal grandparents, Coie and Lois Icenhour.

Those left to cherish Garrett’s memories, along with his parents, include a brother, Greg Bowman and wife Melissa; and a sister, Gina Richards and husband Kevin. Several nieces and nephews survive him: Bailey, Amie, Maegan and Dalton Bowman, and Kaleb Richards. He leaves a beloved cousin, Garvin Bowman, and a special uncle, Dale Bowman, along with numerous friends and family.

Garrett will lie in state Saturday, January 23, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Service. A graveside service will also be held Saturday, January 23, at 2 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Taylor Pennell and Rev. Dan Spears. You can also listen in the parking lot on 87.9 FM.

Pallbearers will be: Gary, Greg and Dalton Bowman, Kevin Richards, and Jeff and Darian Sigmon.

Memorials may be sent to Macedonia Baptist Church @ 63 Macedonia Church Rd., Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Covid-19 restrictions apply to all services.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
