Robert Joseph Harlow (Joe)

Robert Joseph Harlow (Joe) of Cedar Woods Road, Taylorsville, died on January 19, 2021.

He was born on October 12, 1945 to Leslie and Loretta Harlow who preceded him in death.

A native Virginian, Mr. Harlow graduated from Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach and attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mr. Harlow served two years in the Navy and four years in the reserves during the Vietnam Era.

A master electrician, Mr. Harlow was a member of the lnternational Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 50 years, working with various companies in the Tidewater area.

ln 1994, Mr. Harlow and his wife, Ruth, moved to Taylorsville, to Ruth’s birthplace. A lover of nature, he always enjoyed providing a habitat for birds. His other hobbies included carpentry, gardening, traveling, and reading.

ln addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Harlow.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Ruth; his daughter, Amy Lindbergh (Eric); his grandson, Evan Lindbergh; sisters, Linda Meekins and Benny Harrell (Perry); a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Harlow, all of Virginia Beach; a brother, Burrus Harlow (Mam) of Camden, Connecticut; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Chester of Taylorsville.

Mr. Harlow requested no formal service.
