Margaret Louise Bolick Bowman

Margaret Louise Bolick Bowman, 90, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, after a period of declining health.

Margaret was born on July 16, 1930, in Alexander County, to the late Walter and Hattie Elenore Hall Bolick. She was the owner and operator of Bowman’s Grocery in the Friendship Community for 62 years.

Margaret enjoyed listening to church services on the radio, especially Rev. Jamie. She also enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, reading, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hayward Bowman, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Those left to share and cherish the memories of Mrs. Bowman include her four daughters, Louise Fox (Harold), Louetta Eckard (David), Lou Eva Deal (Gregg), and Jearldine “Jerri” McNiel (Curtis); ten grandchildren, Bryan McNiel, Gina McNiel, Tina Hertzler, Wesley Deal, Wesley Hollar, Lisa Fox, Steven Deal, Josh Hollar, Timothy Eckard, and Ethan Eckard; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services for Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at East Taylorsville Baptist Church on Monday, May 24, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. The family will greet and mingle with friends after the service. Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate the services.

A special thank you to Kimberly Eckard, Tina Hertzler, Lou Eva Deal, Jerri McNiel, and the wonderful and caring Hospice nurse, Lisa Bumgarner. Thanks for being there for Mom. We LOVE you all!

    Thinking of you. So sorry for your loss. Just found out about Margaret. Been trying to call. Couldn’t find her phone number or the girls. Margaret was a good person and a good friend. She always thought of other people .
    I have many precious memories of all of you and the store. I will always remember you as good friends.
