Barbara Ann Parsons Millsaps, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, after a short illness.

She was born May 7, 1939, to the late Robert Franklin Parsons Sr. and Ruth Howell Parsons. Barbara was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Volex and at ER Carpenter.

Those left to cherish the memories of Barbara include six daughters, Vanessa Golightly, Shelia Roseboro, Rhonda Collins, Sandra M. Satterfield, Julia Pollock, and Sherry A. Millsaps; a son, Eddie Millsaps; six sisters, Pamela Lineberger, Carolyn Lineberger, Rachel Millsaps, Ceila Teague, Modde Horton, and Marybell Moore; four brothers, Doug Parsons, Bruce Parsons, Gary Parsons, and Jack Parsons; a special daughter, Beverly Linney; and two honorary brothers, John and Bo Phyllis.

Mrs. Barbara will lie in state at Alexander Funeral Service on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitation will be held at Smith Grove Baptist Church, 160 Smith Grove Church Rd, Hiddenite, NC 28636, on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 2:00-3:15 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 3:30 p.m., at Smith Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. William Little, Rev. Melvin Linney, Rev. Sterling Howard, Rev. Frank Linney, and Rev. James Millsaps. Burial will follow in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
