Betty Jean Smith Lynch
Betty Jean Smith Lynch, 92, of Hiddenite, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, after an extended illness at Springs of Catawba.
She was born Sunday, May 9, 1929, in Catawba County, to the late Howard Smith and Nadean Justice Smith. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Newton.
Betty is survived by a son, Tommy Herman wife Jane of Hiddenite; two grandchildren, Mitzi Bumgarner and husband Daniel of Taylorsville, and Cassie Doherty and husband James of Lenoir; three great-grandchildren, Tucker, Amelia, and Gunner; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. Rev. Tony Daniels will officiate. No formal visitation will be held.
